There used to be short time rooms (not for sex, for sleeping) in one of the out of the way corners there.
Do they still offer this service ? Great if you've got a long lay over and want to sleep on a mattress rather than upright in a chair. Also had WiFi as I remember.

I think some of the pay lounges have day rooms. Try checking out Plaza Premium Lounge and Louis' Tavern CIP Business Class Lounge. Worth a look on the internet. I just went through HKG about a week ago. I **think** I remember seeing a sign in front of Louis' that said 'day rooms'. I passed Louis' on the way to the Cathay Pacific lounge. Know I saw a day room sign somewhere in the area of the lounges. Plaza Premium looked kind of expensive on the web site.

If you are a gold member of a Star Alliance airline, the Thai business class lounge has some sleeping areas. The United Red Carept Lounge is nearby as well, but I haven't been there for years - it may be a possibility as well.
For free options you can try this - taken from the HKIA FAQ home page:
2. Is there any place for transfer passengers to take a rest or sleep while they are waiting for their connecting flight?
Passengers wishing to rest in a relaxing green environment can visit the miniature gardens and resting lounges on the Departures Level near gates 21, 26, 34, 41 and 61.
In addition, there are pay-in lounges where passengers can enjoy refreshments, internet access and shower by paying a reasonable fee. Airline Lounges are also available to eligible passengers of particular airlines.
