Greetings, has anyone stayed at the Expat Hotel, and if so how was it? Is it LB friendly?

In Patong? Checked it out for a mate once and he stayed there.
Rooms are basic but about what you expect for the price.It's pretty much a mongers hotel so anything goes.Have read elsewhere that ladyboys are ok but best to confirm.
Has a pool and is extremely close to the action.
My mates weren't happy because they wanted to watch the Australian football at the sports bar but the staff/owner was watching Thai tv.
They stay at The Yorkshire every time now.

btw what sort of Aussie football was it they wanted to watch, Rugby Union - the game they play in heaven?
There should be laws against Rugby Union not being shown on TV!

Just had a look at the Expat on Agoda.Room pics accurate but not worth the price they are asking.
I am staying at Hemmingways Patong in April for a place with a pool.Picked up a special on Agoda for around $40Aud but I suspect there will be construction nearby.
Normally stay at C&N but no pool and I feel like a change.
