I'm considering to buy motorbike and i really like Honda PCX 150. Those who live in Pattaya, could you tell me where to start look at second hand motorbikes?

Off the top of my head two places local to me stand out as at least somewhere to have a look and make a few enquiries. They sell new bikes but must have trade-ins and second-hand bikes for sale too.

The first is opposite the new hospital on Buakhao, just down from 18 Coins towards Action Street on the same side.

The second is on the corner of 3rd Road and Soi Leng Kee.

In fact there are a few dotted along 3rd Road but specifics of their locations do not spring to mind. I'll pay more attention in future.

I looked into getting a second-hand bike last year but in the end I came to the conclusion that it made more sense to buy a new one (as long as you pick a make such as Honda, which holds it's value over time).

If you are set on the idea of buying a second hand bike you will get a much better deal going private (look to local noticeboards such as the ones at Big C and Tesco, or local classifieds such as craigslist, Bahtsold and Thai visa).

DC is right, there are several private showrooms along 3rd Road (between Pattaya Klang and South Pattaya), and plenty more spread out towards and along Sukhumvit Road, but unless the bike is well aged or has seen a high number of miles, you'll notice that the second hand bikes aren't a great deal cheaper than the new ones, and often won't include some of the perks such as cheap insurance deals and easy registration, which you can usually get with a brand new model.

If you don't want to travel far you can check out the showroom at the start of Soi Buakaow (on both corners of Buakaow and Pattaya Tai), but I'd avoid the one opposite the hospital, they tend to be quite pricey (though the shop does specialize in modifications).

.

Alternatively, if you don't care about high mileage you'll get a much better deal approaching some of the big rental companies. From my experience most of the bigger rental places are willing to do a deal for their older bikes - I know the rental guy by New Plaza has a few bikes he'd like to sell (no PCXs), and I know a rental guy on Soi Buakaow (close to Pook bar) who has a black PCX he'd let go for 45k (high mileage), if you're interested let me know and I'll introduce you to him..

Before you buy a second-hand bike I'd advise you to consider buying a new one first. When I checked out the Honda Zoomers, for example, the new model with 3 years full insurance and all paper work complete worked out at around 55,000 while the other showrooms were selling the second-hand older models at around 45,000 with no extras (I found a few private sales around 37-40,000). If you buy new from a reputable dealer such as Mityon or direct with Honda, and have a long term visa or are able to put the bike in a Thai name, you'll also have the option to pay in monthly installments.

Thanks guys for your reply. I don't have any hurry for this, but sooner or later i have to buy one. I don't care about high mileages as long it's in decent condition and it's not already broken (btw. what is "high mileage" in your mind?). But as i said, only Honda PCX 150, no other models.
