Not really...taking around newbies is a PITA...though it is kinda fun seeing them make all the usual,rookie mistakes and getting ripped off.
Being helpful is not for everyone.
For those on a once a year whistle-stop Pattaya fuck-fest I can imagine how painful it might be to waste even one solitary second on anybody but themselves. But for many, including me, answering the questions of a newbie as best as possible and fast-tracking them through a few of the bar locations and baht bus logistics is of no consequence, in fact, I find it rather enjoyable. We all stood on step-one once upon a time wondering what, where and how.
Setting someone off on the right foot while a few complementary beers are slid across the bar in my direction as a gratuity is just fine. I do agree though, watching them goggle-eyed in disbelief at the reality of Thailand's fleshpots for the first time can be very entertaining
