So planning to branch out a bit on my next trip to SEA and check out Ho Chi Min City. Its my first trip to Vietnam and it will be a short jaunt as part of a three week stay in Thailand. I am planing to be there from Dec 16 to 19.
From the stuff I am reading it looks like I will try to stay in District 1. It seems that's where a lot of night life is (Apocalypse Now, Go2 Bar, Gossip Club) I have not picked a place yet but from what I understand you can not bring a guest back to a three star and above hotel which are state owned, so I will be looking at smaller hotels that are guest friendly. Actually I prefer the smaller boutique style hotel, hopefully something that has a real Saigon feel to it. I don't think I will be pursuing any LB action while I am there, just GG. Of course if I stumble across a willing LB stunner who am I to say no.

Any help with hotels, nightlife, restaurants, or cool shit to do and see would be appreciated.

As I continue to plan this portion of my trip and uncover stuff from alternitive sources I will post it here, but ofcourse I would be obliged for your input

District 1 is waste of time IMV tho a good place to stay. There is a rooftop bar at the Sheraton Towers and the nightclub beside it has a few hookers prowling around. There is another hotel - The Fortuna, I think - that has a casino and the night club there has plenty of working girls.

Hunting out the elusive lb is a bit hit and miss in HCMC they are a bit like gays in Vietnam they arent supposed to exist

When you do manage to stumble over one you will invariably find the experience quite rewarding as they tend to be very enthusiastic with lots of rimming etc etc. District one is not a prefered area for me to hunt for such elusive creatures as they tend to be a bit rapacious and looking for suckers to fleece

there are some honeys around but keep your eyes open!!! hair dressing salons on the outskirts of town tend to do very little in the way of actual hair cutting if you need GG entertainment during your quest

Which district has lb action? I was thinking District 1 but maybe not? Or can I just ask any cab driver?

I remember the open square in front of the opera house? (the Rex Hotel is also on that square) had a great gg scene with lots of girls riding 2 and 3 to a motorbike cruising around.

Not working girls per se, just young kids out looking for a good time. This was a good 20+ years ago, but I imagine that location would still be a popular one as it is a lovely layout in a fashionable part of the city. If the gg cruising scene is still extant there, I'll bet it would by now diversified to include some of ours.

I decided to stay in one of the A & Em hotels in district one. I will only be in HCMC for three nights and I know at least one of those nights I will be going to Apocalypse which is in district 1. As I am in unfamiliar territory I figure I would rather stay close to the night life and travel around during the day when its light out and i am sober.

Anyone have some tips on stuff to do places to eat or mongering please chime in.

I found a GG forum that has a few threads on HCMC but not sure if I should post the link here as it is a primarily Pattaya forum and may be in conflict with the rules here.
