this is a great point, im even thinking about getting a fake wedding ring just for local girl whores. u always tell women u are taken or have been taken for atlest 6-7 years of your past via a marriage that didnt work out.

That's hiliarious Boom!

In my previous life, I was the absolute worst about keeping my wedding ring on.....didn't want to send the wrong signals to the ladies, after all.

Now, what you write makes perfect sense. I think maybe I'll get a fake wedding ring prior to my next trip......wouldn't want to send the wrong signals to the ladies, after all!

My golden rules.

1- always agree price upfront. if they say "up to you" tell them what you will pay them.
2- if a bad atmosphere is created by discussing money, let it go and move on.
3- ask if they have id card for the hotel.
4- tell them in my room, her mobile phone is to be switched off.
5- never use the word "maybe". they think it means yes.
6- second night sex is rarely as good as the first. if you have found a repeater, leave a night or two in between before going back.
7- any silly piss taking, or lazy bedroom performance, just pay them and put them on the "no repeat "list .
8- if you ever get a feeling something aint right, then it aint.
"im sure if u look around u can find a sunken face under caloried 10 year vet tranny bar girl, her face might not be as uniquely sunken or her ass dents so dented but just have a look, life is full of options." - boomdraw.

Ah, we've all had to learn that one the hard way, eh? I've occasionally managed to get away with the odd "not sure" now and again, but not often... :D

Excellent guidelines, wish i had read these a few years ago.
But...on contemplation do i. I,ve made all the stupid mistakes here you can think of and more, but for me the fun was in the "learning". After 10 years visiting Pattaya i,m still learning but i,m not daft anymore, I still love Pattaya and what it has to offer but now i find i,m more on my guard and very cynical of all i meet be it Thai or Falang, its sort of lost that 3D/ HD effect it once had on me.
I actually used to believe they "lubbed me" and missed me, so the highs were real for me, i actually felt some kind of love/lust whatever it is, and the lows /jealousy/arguments were like a left hook in the ribs.
The big ladyboys spitting venom in my face pretending to call someone to kill me made me crap myself, I paced my balcony all night really thinking some Thai guys were coming to kick my door down. Now i know its all a bluff i,m not scared but also the experience is now a little numb maybe compared to those early days. The time i had to call 2 mates to help me evict a ladyboy cause she was"bigger than me". My mates still rip the piss out of me about it , i chuckle about it too.
Buying loads of gogo girls drinks ,all round me like flies round shit because i thought i was Jaidee , aaaah.
So some great points here and i,m glad i,ve read what i mostly know now but its refreshed my memory. Like the one about me being the Boss not the Customer, cant wait to tell them that one tonight. But no I,m glad i never saw this 10 years or even 5 years ago because for me personally i loved learning the hard way and all i ever lost was a little money ,nothing to cry about. All that ever got hurt was my pride by that whack over the head with a handbag, delivered in a crazy American "drive-by on the back of a moped" stylee!!
Rock on

Good post Rocky!

It sounds like you've got a story or two that many of us would enjoy hearing. How about a little trip report of your past adventures buddy?

Good seeing you post!

Excellent post rocky 8)

You've possibly summed up why many of the old hands have grown somewhat tired of the scene and perhaps become a little jaded after years of visiting the Kingdom.

The sheen has gone, (some of) the fun has disappeared and the realisation of reality has dawned, which isn't as much fun as the dream itself.

Sounds like there's years of experience behind you, so please contribute more to the forum

Rocky, great post. As DC says some of the sheen is gone. I chose here to retire because i Know what I'm getting (and not getting). Retiring in the USA was not a possibility economically.

Like you, I nearly shit myself when I got a death threat. Too many stories of the 500 baht contract killing. Everything was rectified and we're friends again.

But life is good and the weather suits me. Just hate Songkran. Fill up the fridge and cabinets for a week and stay inside.
Old, cantankerous, and sorry if I piss you off - well, not really. Just enjoy!

I,ve just thought of a number 11.
Always keep some 500 baht and smaller notes back or keep in your room somewhere to pay off baffoons, lemons and "clenchers" because they never have change when you tell em to bog off.
