i already have flights booked to and from bangkok but i was thinking of traveling to the philippines on the second or third week but unless skyscanner isnt listing all the airlines the flights are terrible and fairly expensive then i have no idea how to get from manila to la union i guess either bus or internal flight is it even worth the effort? i kinda want to visit a friend and i figure a month in pattaya is kinda too long

Another regional carrier worth checking is Malindo.
Maybe provide some more details on the type of trip you are looking for and you will get better suggestions. If you are going primarily to chase P4P ladyboys, then Pattaya is hard to beat. Maybe spend a few days in BKK?
If you want to do some regular touristy stuff, like hit the beach or hike in the mountains, Thailand has plenty to offer.

This was posted around 2012. It doesn't sound like there is a regional airport there, so overland is the only option.
