"or is 2 weeks too long?"

Why there's no such thing as too long.

I've had a couple of Thai girls I was staying with mention wanting to go to Ko Samui. Major tourist spot, suspect the prices would be higher, but meeting and mingling would be easier. I think at least one board member is retired in Chiang Mai.

Was in Phnom Penh for a week, the gg scene is ok, but had no ideal where to look for LBs, certainly not as out there as Thailand.

Apples and oranges I would think. I guess if you like the Beach and what it has to offer then Samui would be the call.  More tolerable climate for me anyway in CM and probably more ladyboys if that is a priority.  Lot's of nature things around CM, adventure tourism if ladyboys aren't enough. and lot's of Temples. Probably a lot more cultural. I haven't been to Samui, but the Islands I had to many backpackers for my liking.

Some decent ladyboy bars and bars with ladyboys in CM.

I got in to a taxi and asked the driver to find me a LB.

SO he took me near a gay? bar, and outside met this gorgeous LB cost $50 ST.

Had the number in my other phone but it's dead :(

She worked at a bar catering to japanese.

Don't base your choice around the ladyboys in either location.

If you want a beach holiday it's Samui, if you want some culture and nature its Chiang Mai.

There are a handful of ladyboy in both places but not enough to make any difference.

2 weeks in either might be a bit too long. Bangkok Airways do a direct flight between the two so a week in each makes a whole lot of sense.
