I happend to come across this independent documentary, "Trained in The Ways of Men", and watched it today.

It documents the aftermath of a brutal killing of a lovely transgendered female in San Francisco by a group of engraged males who'd "discovered" her secret after having had sex with her.

Much of the documentary is about the dynamics of the trial, which is pretty interesting, but i thought the actual interviews with the family of the victim, other transgendered people, psychologists, advocates, etc, gives a voice to the issue of the extremely difficult lives transgendered people often live. Good exploration of the dynamics of the bigoted mind and it's origins, among many other interesting topics.

For anybody interested, here is the trailer. (The movie is better).

I remember reading about this case on the news - very tragic and sobering story about how trans/homophobia can lead to extreme actions. Hopefully something like this will not happen again.

Here's an embed of the trailer.
