Recently I have been getting the following error message with Firefox 5.0.

400 Bad Request
nginx/0.7.51

This shows up instead of the desired web page. I have cleared the cache, with the same results.

Something similar has happened while posting - except the code has been 502, Bad Gateway. I think this may be part of the reason for some of the double posts. You think the new post did not go through and try again, then both show up.

I have tried IE8 and it seems to be working, but the Bad Gateway message has been happening as well.

Is anyone else having similar problems with Firefox 5.0?

I downloaded the latest version of FF and now it's FFS!

Problems every day with it so I might switch to GC as Vandal suggests... 8)

Strange, I've been using Firefox for years, download the newer versions as they come out and I've never encountered any problems apart from the odd organisation, like my bank, that does not support Firefox.

I use Firefox regularly and have no issues, but I am always resistant to the latest updates. Same goes with Opera, which I had to uninstall just last week due to an update which screwed it up.

I had issues with Chrome when it first came out and that put me off, so I uninstalled it and have no desire to try it again.

Firefox v4 must have been a mess as it didn't last very long. I'm still using v3 with no problems.

An update for stability issues has just been sent out so we shall see if this sorts FF out...

This new version numbering is a bit of a marketing game. Firefox just switched to a 'rapid release' schedule like Chrome. They'll be releasing a new version every 3 months. So expect version 6 in a few months. The update to 5.x had bug fixes with little additional enhancements, which is likely to be the case for versions 6, 7, etc...

But the upgrade from 3.x to 4.x was a major update and caused some serious issues, especially if you use a lot of plugins/addons like I do. But stability should be returning with incremental updates...I hope. I switched back to 3.6 for now.

The problem seems to have resolved itself - after I closed the browser and restarted it.

I would suggest if you use Firefox not to update until reports of problems have been solved.

I'm having an unrelated issue with Firefox 5 that only a system reboot fixes. Ver. 4 had a lot of problems I understand.
