Hi Happyguy,
There is no shortage of guest friendly hotels throughout Thailand however it is advisable to specify a double occupancy when booking to avoid being charged a joiners fee when you return to the hotel with your guest.
Some of the more popular guest friendly hotels in Bangkok are;
Nana Hotel & Dynasty Inn - 1100 Baht/night
In Pattaya the possibilities are endless, but some suggestions would be;
The Penthouse 900 Baht +
Lek Hotel 1200 Baht (new building)
Dynasty Inn 1200 Baht
If you are staying at Bangkok's Dynasty Inn, (only a few metres from Nana Plaza), they will provide a free mini bus transfer to their hotels in Pattaya, providing you pre-pay for a minimum of 2 nights in Pattaya
Pretty good value in my book.
Cheers

I'm going to Bangkok soon and would like to stay at a guest friendly hotel near Nana Plaza. I was thinking of the Majestic Suites but someone here said it was no problem with a double room. I had just planned on getting a single, do I need a double or is a single OK?
I've seen the Royal Ivory (Nana 4) on the internet but it doesn't say anything about bringing guests back. Does anyone know if its OK and if you have to pay?

At the Majestic Suites you would be well advised to book a Deluxe-Double as the standard room is far two small for two persons, you can not even walk around the bed without touching it.
No prob's taking anyone back to your room in the Majestic however, only book a single if you intend to sleep alone although a single would be ok for a short time experience.
I've tried lot's of hotels in this area and for me the Nana Hotel is the one for us single guys.

Thanks for the tip about a single being such a small room. In this country the rooms are usually the same but you get a slightly cheaper rate (if you're lucky) for only having one breakfast.

One LB (free gallery) told me to book Majestic
(instead of Nana Hotel or Dynasty Inn)
Don't know why ...
ps : if it's really a LB answering !
