Hi
Well I just booked my airfare from SFO to BKK in November. Get in on the 21st, two days in Bangkok then off to Pattaya. Looking forward to the trip.

Has anyone flown on EVA airlines, if so, how was your experience? Got the flight for $900. Welllok forward to my first trip to LOS and checking out some cool sites :D

Yes Eva are ok, certainly better than the US carriers but not so good as the likes of Thai or Singapore in the all round experience.
Congratulations on taking the plunge in booking your maiden voyage of LB discovery

I flew with EVA (economy) about a year ago, and I'd say it was one of the best flights I've had to LOS. Food as good as you can could expect, reasonably good leg room, decent on board entertainment, and pleasant staff.

I'd put EVA up with Thai air from my experiences. Thai air is generallly better, but they have terrible on board entertainment.

Flew it when they stared, about '95, was from Gatwick in those days with a 747400, was cheap too £365 return all in. Did the deluxe class also £100 more at the prices. But happy days are round the corner, Virgin have applied and been accepted on the route, competition means cheap!

This is probably more than you ever wanted to know.

I have flown EVA from several cities on the west coast of the US via TPE to BKK. Most of the west coast flights, except for some LAX flights, are on the 747-400. They typically have one to three more inches of leg room in economy than US airlines. In economy most (none?) EVA 747s don't have an entertainment system in the seat back in front of you. But have community screens for watching movies. Service and food (for airline food) are usually good.

EVA is replacing some 747s with the 777-300. From the west coast they fly the 777 mainly (only?) from LAX. Every seat has a personal entertainment unit that allows you to start, stop, rewind, FF, etc a decent selection of movies and music. You will likely fly a 777 to and from BKK-TPE.

It's a long flight but not as bad as most people think before their first trip. But bringing something to help you sleep is a good idea IMO.

Have fun,
Xyzzy

Just flew EVA from London to BKK. Had front row seat in Business. Cost was £1200. Good staff food fine and entertainment. Seat was almost flat not BA Club standard but a lot cheaper. Limited selection of films compared to BA and Virgin

If lew EVA many times from Amsterdam to bkk. Never had a complaint about them.

Actually i even got upgraded most of the times to business class. I think they are superb comparing to all the other rip off airline carriers that literally throw your food dish on your table.

Flown EVA several times, no complaints, they were on schedule, the seats were reasonably comfortable, the staff helpful. From the USA west coast they and China Air typically have the cheapest fares.
