Does anyone know if the Singapore government censors "adult" internet sites...like the Thai government does? Does anyone know spedifically if LD69 is blocked-out in Singapore?

If the answer is yes, does anyone know a way-around by using a proxy or something?

Have to travel there soon and would miss by babies if I was cut-off from them

There are some adult sites being blocked. But LB-69 is totally accessible in singapore.

Nah...they ban stuff like child porn or other crap like that. And the Playboy and Hustler sites are still banned.
But I don't know of any ladyboy site that's banned.

I am NOT an Internet expert by any means. But, my limited understanding is that unless a government or an ISP gets very, very serious about blocking sites (like the Chinese) they usually just delete and/or block the URL in question from their DNS server(s) (Domain Name Server). This server links the URL to an IP address. Without that IP address your machine can't find that URL on the Internet.

The following instructions will only work on a machine with a stand alone Internet connection. You can do a similar thing to a home/small office Internet router. But you must change the settings in your router. They are all a little different so, surf around. If you are behind a company Firewall and the techs have done a good job, you're hooped!

However, you can manually change the DNS server that your machine uses. Right click on 'My Network Places', left click on properties, highlight and right click on the network card your machine uses for the Internet connection, left click properties, scroll down to 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' and left click on the properties button. At the bottom of the window you will see the DNS server section. Click on the dot for 'Use the following DNS server addresses'. Fill the spaces with 171.64.7.55 and 171.64.7.77. This is a university's DNS server in the states. I can't remember which one. Then left click Ok, Ok to save your settings.

I use this method with success to get around some URL blocking where I live. Good luck & good surfing
