Hello All

 

Been awhile since I was last here or in LOS. 2years at least and I see things have quiet down quite a bit.Lived in Bangkok for a few years and left about 7 years ago. Feels like a lifetime.

Havent visited as often as I would like but thats life.

Read that many things have changed so hopefully some of you guys would be kind enough to fill me in.

I only have a couple of days so need to optimise my time....

NEP; My regular haunts were Obsessions and Casanova. Will probably still drop by those. Anywhere else in NEP thas interesting? Also what is the BF nowadays was B600 last time around and going rate for ST?

Also used to take a few FL LBs from outside Thermae on Suk. With the market now gone, is it still viable.

Check-In - last time I was there, there were tearing down the tunnel and I didnt make my way in. Still good?

Front242, things can change a lot in 2 years, and unfortunately NEP is not as good as it used to be. Obsessions is now known as True Obsessions - it still is probably the number 1 lb bar in NEP - and still caters more to the Asian lb lovers. It still has some of the best looking lbs on staff for Bkk. Total numbers are down - in the glory years, they had close to 100 lbs on staff, and now it's more like 70 and the full range from fem boys to busty Amazons.

 

It's amazing that Casanova is still going on, but it has to be due to the mamasan - she's been there for well over 10 years and keeps the lbs in line - taking care of customers. Barfine is still the same, but if you are going on a holiday (New Year's eve or New Year's day), they will increase the bar fine to 1000 Baht. This weird policy is to reduce the number of lbs who would bar fine themselves to take a day off to celebrate the holidays, and decreasing the number of staff working on the holidays.

 

The Thermae is still open, but no lbs allowed inside. Around 11:00 pm at night, though there will be a number of lb freelancers working the sidewalks just outside of it. Check in Bar has moved to Soi 10 - there is a thread about it here. It still is one of the better lounge bars to visit in Bkk. There is also another lounge type bar called Why Not? on Sukhumvit Soi 20 that has also become very popular.

 

There is a new lb bar called Mercury Bar in NEP. It's the sister bar of Temptations and Cockatoo (in Soi Cowboy). If you are looking for daytime action there are a couple of lb massage shops around Sukhumvit Soi 5-7. The former Nuch Salon has closed, and the new Wii Saloon is just a couple of doors down from the old spot (towards Soi 4).  There is also a tiny lb massage shop located by Boss tailor shop on Sukhumvit Soi 5. It is called "Best Message" or similar and is a tiny sliver easy to miss. It takes up the space of 1/2 or less than a regular shop front. There will be 1-2 lbs in front touting for customers.

A detail is amazing : I didn't know of Thermae. I made a quick google search and it seems that it's closed now (I am not sure). But I recognized the place : it's in the middle of one of my favorite areas to find freelancers on Sukhumvit. 

I will add an info in my TR. This year, I haven't managed to bargain lower than 2,000 baht with freelancers in BKK. It seems that the ST price has leveled to 2,000 baht (BF not included) and all the freelancers I contacted didn't want to go lower than 2,000 baht. Except this problem of price, this remains an area with good looking chicks at night.

I will be touching down in about 24-30hrs.
Trying to picture soi 10. Used to live on Soi 8.
Will visit Mercury bar.
B2000 for ST?! I remember when that was the LT rate.
What's the massage rate? Thanks
We'll see how much mischief I can get into. Really on a compressed schedule as it's just a stopover for a trip to S'pore

Prices make me upset. Not such a long time ago, I paid my first LT 700 baht for 24 hours in 2011. I ain't an airline transport pilot, I can't pay for a girlfriend escorting me for a holiday trip now.

Not a patch on the original Thermae. Open all hours. What ever time your flight arrived in Bangkok you could always get a drink and some action.

Have never seen so many lost and distraught looking Japanese men in my life. 😂
Also, don't know if it's a result of the closing down of the night market but they seem to be alot of deaf mute GG FLs outside NEP

Made it down to NEP.
Walked around and saw a proliferation of LB nars
Some of the girls at DC 10 were very pretty. Post ops I assume as one of them claimed I took her from cascades.
Too that as a sign and went to Cascades and there Four found me. Feminine, passable with the fit spinner body I love and without that harsh LB cackle.
Not the best BJ skills though and horrible plastic bolt one. No give at all to them.
BF 700, Room 350, ST 1500.

Oh and Thermae is open. It just open late I guess (or did it always?).

Unfortunately that's it for my extremely short sojurn in Krungthep. The extreme cold in YYZ caused delays for every flight which resulted in missed connections and delayed flight in Taipei. So instead of 2 days I only had one, most of which was wasted with those who have yet to see the light.

Thanks for the short report FRONT242, sorry to hear that your trip was cut short by a day - at 2 it was too short anyway! Yes, the Thermae probably doesn't open until around 11:00 pm, or so. DC10 is a mixed postop/preop bar - so you probably would have had 50/50 chance if you barfined a lady from there. Four is pretty, and it looks like she has number 98 on her tag?

YYZ was -33c with snow squalls when I left.
2 hour delay for de-icing, the de-icing looks really cool at night.
Taipei was a mess. With all the delayed flights coming from the NE, all the flights arrived at the same time instead of properly staggered. Lineup for security was at least 600m. Alot of ppl missed their connections.

Alot has changed in 2years. The soi 5 area of the "tunnel" is now an Arab shopping mall. Rear part still empty and boarded up. Beer Garden still there.
Hooters everywhere!!!
Rajah hotel gone. Some pretentious looking lounge restaurant in its parking lot. New hotels along soi 4.
Night market still there but at 1/3 the size.
NEP looks cleaned up. They have security now at the entrance and barriers blocking vehicles from entering. Security check bags and the girls all get their IDs checked too.

Bangkok is slowly getting cleaned up. Us old hands may lament what made Bangkok unique is being lost but I think the residents of the city will appreciate it.

According to my experience, prices are skyrocketing in Bangkok. This attracts more ladyboys from provinces but they want more money, short term money and LT or relationship is made harder to find.
