I've been hearing a lot of negative press about Phuket lately.  I understand they shut down Soi Crocodile, and the rest of Phuket is expensive and a shadow of what it used to be.  Is the only thing

going for it is Coctails and Dreams ?

 

Is it still worth going now ?  Anybody been there lately ?

C&D is not a big loss. Patong is still full of ladyboys. They are freelancers hanging on Bangla road or using TF, badoo and other apps to find their customers. IMHO, PAtong is the best place to find a ladyboy in LT. Find one that you like and bring her for a trip to the islands bewteen Phuket and Krabi.

I am not disturbed since I have never considered bars to be essential to get in touch with ladyboys. I often wondered why bars are so important to most of the mongers posting in forum. The only serious answer I found is that British people are used to going to a pub evry evening or at least when they have free time to spend their money and chat with other people. So many people whose habits are influenced by the English habits like to find their bar in Thailand and mongers expect ladyboys to contact them at the bar. 

 

Having always considered that p4p dating should occur between 2 people without paying a boss, I feel uncomfortable in a bar although I found my longest relationship at the Tequila bar in soi Crocodile when it existed. Except this one, I have never seen any advantage in picking up in a bar. 

 

Patong is still full of ladyboys. Why noy contact those you want to meet and invite the ones you like in a bar where they will bill you no LD but normal drink prices and why not invite her to the restaurant before going to the room. Phuket is  great base to onvite then the girlfriendly one(s) for a trip to islands in Phang Nga bay, to the Similan oslands or to the surrounding National parks. It's just a different way of having fun with them.

I disagree. Bars are a safe way to meet shemales. If you have a negative experience, you can always go back to the bar. There have been many articles about having issues with Ladyboys from dating sites and free lancers . Drug use and psychological issues are lessened by paying a bar fine .

Unfortunately it's not BS. There have been many instances of Ladyboys that are free lancers or on dating sites that have issues. Drug use, bad attitudes, history of craziness, you name it ! If you don't think so, ask the bar owners about girls they've gotten rid of. Notorious example.., the death of David Carridine. He took two street walkers to his room and was strangled. There are so many other examples of violence. Remember , these are lady BOYS ! It's not estrogen that courses their veins, but testosterone, like us.
That's not to say that the only way to meet shemales is in bars. I'm simply saying that greater caution is necessary meeting Ladyboys as compared to meeting girls .
I would like to hear from those more experienced in these matters as to their opinions.

However, with the advances in social networking apps, it would seem there is a shift in the way lbs will meet potential customers. The Filipina lbs have been at this for a while already. The Thai lbs seem to be moving to this as well.

In my "stats" bar ladyboys are the most risky ones. Once upon a time, dangerous freelancers used dangerous methods to rip off customers but I haven't read such stories for at least 10 years. I noticed that bar ladyboys are trained to make customers pay as fast as possible or spend extra money for them. It's not only an habit of those who are actually employed in bars but also of freelancers who learned their job as bar girls. Freelancers who have never worked in a bar or those who refused the bar system are more generous and less greedy according to my own experience.

Believing that a farang will get a protection if a scam occurs is pure legend. Bar owners don't care about a farang visiting Thailand a few weeks in a year. It won't affect their reputation. The last thing I felt like doing after a poor ST with a bar girl was to meet her boss on the next morning and justify why he would grant me a partial or total refund. Bar ladyboys with a poor service knew how to use their boss' protection to get what they wanted : money for as small effort as possible.

It's also impossible to classify all the freelancers in one category. I found freelancers who worked after their bar closed in the middle of the night, those working with escort agencies (and freelancing in the same time), those who were fired from their bar. All these have a clock in their brain either their service is good or not. I also met students, inexperienced ladyboys, ladyboys employed in business. My rate of satisfaction was higher. If for some reason, I am not satisfied with a freelancer, I just loose the half of what I loose with a bargirl. In one case that I will try to find again, I had good sex with a stunner for free. This is unbeatable.

This was published in Pattaya One News today. This is not an isolated incident, there are often several reports of freelance lbs in Pattaya involved in crimes per month.

 

 

Suprise Suprise! Lady boy involved in gold snatch

A Lady boy has been arrested over a robbery which took place in Pattaya on July 25th. He previously managed to get away with a gold necklace worth roughly 100,000.

Pol Maj Col Piyapong Ensarn, inspector of Pattaya tourist police, was accompanied with police officers to track and hunt Mr Itthipol Srichumpon aged 23 after he had robbed a foreigner.

The incident took place in the night of July 25th around the South Pattaya area.

The officers were told by Mr Li Zhengyu aged 37 from China who revealed that he was smoking in front of a hotel when a ladyboy came closer and tried to charm him before she suddenly snatched his white gold necklace estimated to be worth around 100000 baht and ran away.

The officers inspected around crime scene, questioned eyewitnesses and collected CCTV footage, but the victim wasn’t holding his breath and was realistic that the chances of catching the thief were slim.

However, using the evidence collected, the officers managed to track the culprit down and brought arrest warrant to arrest him at his home in Udon Thani.

 

You have been fortunate so far. Malibu515 and I did not write that lbs from the bars are 100% safe. We wrote the odds of an untoward incident is higher with freelancers. There are also periodic news reports from Bangkok and other tourist centers regarding freelance lbs involved in crimes against tourists (aka customers).

 

As I wrote in another post, the lb scene in Thailand is changing and we will have to see what the future holds for it.

 

To get back to the original posted subject, while the lb bars on Patong Beach have become scarce, Spyder Rocket wrote an excellent topic: Phuket's Bar Guide for LB Lovers, This outlines other out of the way bars where lbs can be found outside of the major areas.

I can't follow you on this way. We are talking of ladyboys and ladyboys mongers. Victims of such scams are not ladyboy mongers. They are so drunk that they can't even see that the girl talking to them is not a girl. A ladyboy monger should have enough judgement to make the difference between a ladyboy freelancing in p4p and a scammer, the basic difference being that a scammer will deny being a ladyboy. Moreover, one should never expose gold necklace and money to anybody. 

 

This type of affairs sometimes occur ... in Pattaya. 

 

Back to Phuket, there are still a few bars scattered around the island with sometimes one ladyboy working there. Though, most of the ladyboys who worked in Patong bars remained in Patong to work freelance if they didn't return to their hometown. Dealing with freelancers is just as easy an habit as dealing with bar girls. It's more a question of cultural habits.
