100k is more than enough if you live like normal person. Of course only sky is limit if you start to live like king, but i bet you don't spend 100k THB (about 2500€) per month in home now?

Some of you have noticed that i update my watermark in pics. "Teppis Hellsinki" changed to "Teppis Hellsinki Photography". Reason for this is pretty simple, even dumbest person now realize that it's not me in pics but i'm behind the camera. Don't have to argue with horny guys anymore...

About pics

As you know i have invest nice sum of money for my camera equipment and i'm always trying to get best image quality for my pics. These forums unfortunately don't keep original size of image but shrinks them to save space, so lot of fine details are lost. For now on i'm gonna optimize my pics for Facebook and these forums will get them as they are, i'm too lazy to do another versions for forums. Meaning best image quality as i wanted them to be can be seen only in FB.

Attention for all who send me friend request in Facebook!

It feels very strange when someone send me friend request in Facebook without saying how he knows me and we don't have any common friends. I'm not in FB to get thousands of friends but share my pics with BM's and LB's and i'm not interested friendship of asian GG who is probably looking new sponsor or anyone who's FB is complete empty without any information who is behind that profile. For now on, if someone send me friend request and don't give any explanation that he is member of forums, i'm not gonna accept it.

100k is plenty! some months I spent a lot more than that, but on average it was about 80k, nice condo, drink to oblivion every night (this is probably where most money went). GGs (imps) from Devils's den, and then LBs from BR and bars :) It was tiring! (guess someone had to do it!)

I had to clean-up my Facebook and kick out some (actually over 70) fake profiles from my friend list. Facebook is great tool to follow your friends but it also give possibility for misdemeanour. I noticed that some profiles are opened 2007 and there wasn't even single action after that, so i guess that it's only purpose was peek other people's life without intention to "give" anything. I don't need "friends" like that. However i contempt most for profiles who are using stolen pics from (usually) young, muscular, model looking guys and let people (ladyboys) to believe that it's really them. When you check from Google, you will find dozens of web pages where these pics are stolen. Pathetic. :FU:

Anyway if you find out that you are not anymore in my friend list and you think that i wrongly kicked you out, you can send me PM here and i will consider case by case if i can unblock you. I have to remind that i only want real people in my friend list who are active in forum. If your FB was full of cartoon, landscape or stolen model pics without any real information about you, and your post number here is 0, don't even bother

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been thinking how to improve my photography skills and possible make some business with it. I don't remember if i told that because i can't work here legally, i have been teaching Sonya to take pics and hopefully some day she can start to take pics to get extra money for us. I also have hopes that someday she could get profession from photography or related of it, because working in Big-C doesn't sound very excited and i'm sure that if you have some special skills, it will show in salary also. Basically every thai can work in Big-C but not many can take professional quality pics with DSLR and do their own post processing. If my idea will work, Sonya will get chance for better life even if something happens to me or our relationship ends. That's the most valuable gift i can give for her.

So next step what we have to do is get "studio". Our room is too small that we could bring customers and take pics here. Basically i could rent another space for studio purpose, but then we need several photoshoot in week to make it profitable. So we been speaking about renting bigger house, apartment, condo... what ever, where we could use one room only as a studio. In east Pattaya there are several huge houses and rent is still reasonable, but problem is burglary. We went to drive and see one 260 square meter house (rent 15.000THB/month) but after i saw area, i decide that it's not what we are looking. In advertising they said 24h security and yes, they indeed had "security man" there, but you could drive in and out to area without anyone asking what you are doing there. They were hired to sit there, not actually doing anything so they value was pretty much zero. Also i didn't saw any farang in area but lot of thais.

Anyway idea still lives but need more research. Any hints guys? :)

House what we were looking...

Regarding the rice, brown rice is healthier than white rice but it's rare to see it in restaurants, the Thais just don't seem to go for it and much prefer the taste of the White, but I usually go with the brown, you soon get used to the taste.

Regarding ED visa: have you already signed up for a course? If you haven't Pro Language were doing a special offer of 19,000 Baht up until the end of March (normal price 24,000), but I'm pretty sure if you ask for this price they'd give it to you.

Once you have registered for a course and have the official registration documents you then have to leave Thailand and apply for an ED visa. You don't have to go far, you can apply at a Thai embassy or consulate In Laos (I think Cambodia too). I think the Laos application can be done in a day, or at least an overnight stay. The only benefit to flying to Europe would be that some embassies allow you to get a multi entry ED visa, whereas the embassies closer to Thailand tend to only give a single entry.

The difference between a multi and single entry visa (this is my rough unofficial explanation):

A single entry gives you a 1 year visa, once in Thailand you have to do some form of paperwork with your school every 90 days, and if you want to leave Thailand during that year you have to apply for leave at immigration and pay a fee (1900 I think).

A multi-entry gives you a 1 year visa but requires you to leave the country at least every 90 days (or within 90). You can leave Thailand as much and as often as you like as long as you never stay longer than 90 days without crossing a border, and every time you enter you'll get a 90 day stamp until your visa expires. You don't have to do any paperwork or visit immigration and if you do a visa run on the last day of your visa you will get a new 90 day stamp, effectively making it a 15 month visa. You can simply get a visa run van to the Cambodian border, you don't need to fly or stay out of the country any length of time.

The benefit of getting a multi-entry is if you plan to leave Thailand a few times during the year and like the extra 3 months. Great if you like to do little trips away and weekends across the border. But if you plan on staying in Thailand solid for the year just go to Vientiane and apply for a single entry ED there. Several visa shops in Pattaya can arrange you a cheap 2 or 3 day trip for you and help you with all the paperwork making sure it's done quickly and guarnteed - I'm guessing at a cost under 8000 Baht all inclusive.

Hopefully this is all being stamped out now.

Hi guys

It's been some time since last update, mainly because nothing "enough special" hasn't happened. I got couple photoshoot request from Stringfellows, Kings Bar and La Bamba and those pics can be found here...

Stringfellows
http://ladyboyforum....for-april-2014/

Kings Bar
http://ladyboyforum....-2-soi-8/page-2

La Bamba in beach
http://ladyboyforum....photos/page-183

I want to send my thanks for La Bamba staff, they really made their best effort that everything worked well and i felt comfortable. It was great fun for me and girls.

There was hassle in another forum about photography policy in bar and even most people like to look pics, none want to see camera in bar. So it seemed that pics should somehow magically appear in forum without anyone actually to take them. It took some time to find out what is my position with bar owners and now it seems that everyone is ok with me and that mess wasn't actually pointed to me. Hopefully this matter is now treated. Special thanks for Dixon Cox and for those BM's who came to say that i'll do good work and they hope that i will continue. It warms my heart to hear that at least most of you appreciate my efforts. Anyway this subject is closed to me now and i'm not gonna say anything in this diary anymore. From now on i'll only deal with bar owners about this.

I had to send Sonya to dentist because she bites her teeths together when sleeping and i wake up that sound several times in night to push her stop doing that. Now she will get dental night guard so hopefully i can sleep without waking up that annoying sound.

About insurance

This sure is important thing and it seems that it's also very sensitive subject.

My travel insurance is valid only in trips what last max 3 months and then i should go to back in Finland. Because i can't do that, go back every 90 days, i have to find something from thailand. I got this link from Moo Yung (thanks again mate, you've been most helpful)

http://www.bupa.co.t...px#.Uu0cNnmYRE7

And it seems interesting. However i want to ask how you my dear reader have resolved this problem? (this question is only for those who actually live here)
I'm good only this month anymore and i need to find something before June.

I self-insure. Any illness under US 5M and I'm fine. Most of my friends do as well, and we're all long term expats (most over a decade). Medical treatment is pretty cheap here in any case; I had a serious medical emergency last year and spent 2 weeks in BPH hospital after an operation, in a private room, with my own 24-hour private duty nurse (along with all the Hosp. Nurses) for about 5days) and all in it cost me about US 10k. In the States, the operation alone would have cost more than that, and the hospital stay another 20-30k.

Thai health insurance policies really only make sense if you have allot of rug-rats who tend to get sick all the time. Otherwise, they're a waste of money. Better to just put the premium money aside in the bank and build up your own health insurance fund. In the first instance, they have no duty to insure you and if you have pre-existing conditions, they won't cover them. Second, premiums get very expensive as you get older. Also, they are under no obligation to renew a policy if you get sick. Also, most companies stop insuring at a certain age, no matter what the premium, so that when you are old and most likely to need expensive treatment and care you have none.

No, better to insure yourself for the small stuff or emergencies and have enough for airfare back to Finland for government pay for expensive elective non-emergency treatments (e.g., cancer, etc.).
