I've asked about that before and never got any responses. Myanmar has a small tourism sector because of the political climate and the military junta that ran the country for decades.

That situation has supposedly improved over the last few years, but there still aren't a lot of visitors there. Even Laos has a bigger tourism sector than Myanmar. From looking at some stats on visitors to the country, most people who visit are from Thailand.

I'm under the impression that visitors from Western nations are somewhat rare, so information on the LB scene from Western sources is probably very scare. Maybe try tapping into the Thai LB grapevine and see what they know about it?

I'd tread lightly while there and be knowleable of what could get you into trouble with the local authorities. Myanmar doesn't sound like a place where you'd want to run afoul with the cops.

While there are lbs in Myanmar, I doubt very much if it is anything like the scene in Thailand or the Philippines. Also being a closed country for decades under military dictatorship - there won't be much in the way of tourist friendly spots like bars, nightclubs etc, that are typical in Thailand or Philippines.

I would agree with Spyder Rocket's advice about being careful while there.

Myanmar was supposed to be the next big boom country in terms of economic development and tourism, but it seems like growth has stalled.

From what I've read on tourism blogs and travel sites, Yangoon has most in terms of nightlife and it is usually centered around the larger hotels.

I found a few sites that mentioned there are freelancers to be found working at or near these hotel bars and clubs. No mention of lbs, but I think it is plausible that there is a small contingent.

Prostitution is illegal there, but it is hard to judge exactly what the "in practice" attitudes toward it are from regular tourism sites. I did find one site that referenced brothels being operated under the guise of salons, massage parlors and in some cases hotels.

One site mentioned large traveling tent brothels that operated on the outskirts of cities. I'm not too sure what to make of that, but it sounded more like something strictly for the locals.

Maybe you can be our Myanmar expert?

Good luck and safe travels.

Hello guys!
I've been in Myanmar in November 2015. I visited both Yangon and Mandalay. While in Yangon you'll find some nightlife in beer parlours and in the Parkroyal Hotel area, forget about Mandalay. I asked around and you can find some ladyboy (more like crossdressers) in the Parkroyal streets. Anyway, while doing having a BJ in sime dark corner could be "cheap" the price of prostitution in Myanmar is high if compared to Thailand. In Mandalay girls can ask you above 70 USD for a Short Time. So, I didn't take any and saved cash, that then I spent when in Patong. I loved Myanmar and I wush youan amazing time there!

Yup,80000 kyat is the going rate round the entertainment complexes in mingalar market for GGs. A small number of femboy streetwalkers around the lakes mixed in with some GGs.
