King's Castle 3 and King's Corner often get bad press - which is sometimes deserved when they pad the bill, but as far as talent goes, currently they stand up quite well to the NEP bars.

The night I visited KC3 was when they were having a Miss Cleopatra contest - not sure if they were attempting to attract Middle Eastern customers or not - since a lot of them were around Patpong - something I haven't seen much of during my past visits.

I was able to take photos of the contest, and the contestants were their regular staff. Sorry no names as I was busy snapping away! :D

Unfortunately the contest was quite long and I couldn't stay until the end. There were quite a few customers at KC3 - it was busier than the NEP bars during the time I was there.

Thanks OTS!

It's easy to dismiss KC3 because of previous bad reports, but as you can see they have some lovely ladies there. Also drink prices are less than the NEP bars - lady drinks and bar fines as well. The bar fine in KC3 and KC is 500 Baht.

While the girls will flock around you when you first enter the bar - they don't harass you per se - and as soon as you select one for a ladydrink they will quickly disperse leaving you time to get acquainted with your chosen companion. If the chemistry isn't there, no problem to try another one.

As for bill padding - it seems less a problem now, you have to initial each slip that comes by for a drink. But the best way to avoid bill padding is to pay as you go, especially if you are intending to become drunk.

Very good colourful photos Rx. They had a good happy hour deal when I was there earlier in the year, think it was something like 50 baht a beer (bottled ones at that) before a certain time. Do they still have it? Cheers.
We laugh because it is true.

BB - I didn't see any signs promoting a happy hour when I was there - but it would have been easy to miss as it was quite crowded. Yes, the ladies made a good effort to get their costumes made up for the contest and it was quite colorful!

Thanks for the comments, and I am glad to update the information about KC3 and KC (a bit later in this thread).

Something else about KC3 is that there are a lot of part time staff working there who are university students. This means a couple of things - that the English level for the part timers may be better, and that the good looking lbs may not be in every night. The part timers will work on school holidays and weekends, so your best nights to visit would be the same.

KC3 is a mixed postop/preop bar. In the past it was approx 60% preops and 40% postops - but of course this breakdown varies depending on which of the part timers show up to work. The ladies are not shy about giving you an answer if you ask them.

RX,

i was in past in KC3 and KC and always enjoyed my time there and never experienced any additional drinks added to my bill. \

However the prices asked in KC3 (or generally Patong) for ST and LT were generally on the high-end side of the market. I did not bother to negotiate as i was on a monger and went later that night to NEP.

But any pricing guidance from you on the current prices the pre/post op's are charging in this low (rain) season would be appreciated.

Regards

Viking

Viking, I have a regular lb I see in LOS, so I did not ask about ST and LT. In the past I recall it was something like 2000 Baht ST and 4000 Baht LT, however I have heard that with the current very low low season negotiation is possible. I have been told that the prices for ST and LT are set by the bar management, however in the current business climate one would hope that the fixed price model is suspended.

Nice report and nice pics! Thanks for sharing!!

I've always enjoyed my visits to KC3 and never had my tab padded. You DO sign off on each drink tab so if you don't pay attention to how much you are drinking and who you are you are buying drinks for you can get 'overbudget'. But if you do, at least you can't claim 'padding'. :D

Pay as you go if you're gonna get drunk is great advice in any bar!!

By the way, 2k may be standard but I have paid 1500 on several occasions there without any real bargaining...
