Well this didn't last long. It appears this bar went from all ladyboys to all GGs literally overnight. I went in Thursday night and had a drink. Good selection of LBs on hand, a few customers. Had a chat with Pai then left. I go in last night, Friday 13 and it's all young GGs filling the stage and most seats full of Japanese customers, some farang. Some cute girls but I prefer LBs of course so I went to Charades. Seemed almost back to it's glory days as many of the girls from Fairy were there, including Pai. I sat with Enjoy and one of her friends came over and they talked. Then her friend started crying and I asked what was the matter. She said she was told by the manager of Charades that if she wanted to come back to work she would have to pay the bar 15,000 baht. She was worried and afraid what was going to happen to her if she couldn't work there. I guess if the manager likes you, it's okay but if she doesn't you have to pay to return.

BTW, the music in Charades was still too loud but not as bad sitting over by the restroom.

Who has been beating the jungle drums to inform the Japanese customers?

JB111, thanks for the update - that experiment didn't last too long! I do feel sorry for the lbs attempting to return back to their previous bars if they are being stuck with a 15,000 baht rejoining fee. They were likely lured to the new bar by promises of more customers and it didn't work out.

ScottieM, it seems Rainbow 4 next door is closed and they have a couple guys outside directing people towards Fairy bar. I guess Rainbow 4 was popular among the Japanese? I was amazed how full the bar was going from LB to GG in one night. I guess we can hope when Rainbow 4 reopens it will be LB or a mix bar.

RX, it is a shame the girls were victimized this way. Went in Casanova last night and they seemed to have more girls than before. Several more outside DC10 and Temptation too so maybe most were able to find work at these other bars.

yeah, my point... Quick re-assignment of the customers to a new location, albeit just very close.
Never been into R4: is it smaller than Fairy? If that is the case maybe the LB customers fit easier. I noticed that there are neve many many customers in LB bars, whilst the GG ones seem more crowded. It is a perception, not a fact, and maybe this comes from the quick turnaround of customers in a LB vs. a GG bar. In LB they come (no pun intended), drink, pick up a girl and go. I tend to believe a GG bar sees the customers saying longer in it. Maybe the shows, maybe whatever...

it might be the old bars will soon drop down their rejoining fee when they see the girls not picking on it (15,000 is not a joke) and maybe FL'ing around or finding a spot not asking a joining fee...

Never been I Rainbow 4 either scottieM so don't know about the size comparison. Good point, may it's size will be more compatible with the LB clientele.

BTW, DC10 was full of LBs, maybe 12 to 15 total inside and outside. Good number for a small go-go on a Sunday night.

The Thais are often said to have poor problem-solving skills but that accusation cannot be made at the owners of Rainbow 4 in Nana Plaza which was closed a few weeks ago when an underage girl was found dancing. Several months back, the Rainbow Group bought the bar next door to Rainbow 4 which was once known as G Spot and for a short while as Candy Land. The Rainbow Group renamed it Fairy Bar and rethemed it as a ladyboy bar. Fairy Bar did ok initially but soon went in to decline. Fairy Bar has been sold (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) and renamed R&B Bar. A hand-written sign on the door of Rainbow 4 says the Rainbow 4 girls can now be found in R&B bar next door. Don't expect to hear any rhythm and blues though, just ear-bleeding techno pop nonsense. This is similar to what happened in Pattaya a couple of months ago when authorities ordered Casino Club closed for operating later than allowed. They took over the old Diamond Gogo and the sign says "Operated by Casino Group".

Bars are on the move in Nana Plaza, sort of. Fairy Bar was renamed R&B Bar and all of the Rainbow 4 girls had been transferred there in a ploy to get around Rainbow 4 being ordered closed. That lasted just a few days. Fairy Bar has reverted to being Fairy Bar - and the ladyboys are back. Rainbow 4, which was ordered closed, has been renamed R&B Bar and has reopened with all of the Rainbow 4 girls back there. The Rainbow 4 name has disappeared for the time being.

It was a clever switch in my opinion. All back to relative normal in the abnormal world of Nana Plaza.
