I wonder if getting an entry stamp on his passport and then an exit stamp a few hours later is going to set any alarm bells off with the security people?

If it does, there is a pretty good chance of getting an extensive search done of his luggage and body.

Sure he isn't up to anything particularly nefarious, but that sort of thing is going to draw attention from the security and customs people.

If he is cutting it close with time to make his flight, waiting for security to pull his luggage and do a detailed inspection could be an issue.

I had that happen to me when departing Munich once when on a business trip. They saw some entry/exit stamps on my passport that were in a tight time window from a previous country and it set off alarm bells, they pulled me in for an interview and a complete search.

I'm talking a complete search, everything was removed from my luggage and they had me remove my pants and were looking for hidden pockets inside the legs.

I was the last one on the plane and only made the flight because they called to hold it and gave a lift to the gate in a golf cart.

There are Bangkok day trips being offered for those with several hour layovers by various agents at the airport, so there probably wouldn't be an issue if it doesn't happen a lot.

That's good to know.

If I was wanting an LB encounter that bad, I'd look into juggling my travel dates by a day or so to get at least an overnight layover.

However, if he is traveling on his company's money that might be a little difficult.

not at all. Have done it many times. Entering the country at 3pm and exiting at 10pm... Once even entering at 5-6pm and exiting at 10pm.
When exiring the immigration agents don't give much of a look... As long as you exit within the given day (30days, usually)
Security don't even know about your passport, they just check you have a valid boarding card before entering the security checks.
I have done this in many countries, less than 24hrs stay. Even a few hours, two hours.

It is the customs and immigration personnel that typically scrutinize passports. I've had them inspect the binding that holds the pages together on mine before and flip through it looking at entrance and exit stamps. They do have the authority to order baggage inspections and body inspections.

Regardless, if it is common for people to go in and back out through immigration in the space of a few hours, then maybe it won't raise much of an eyebrow.

I've never had a problem in Thailand, it was the Germans that made me take my pants off.

Hmmm - a guy asks tons of questions, gets super replies and then total silence... wonder how he did. I recall a similar situation a decade ago - except that I met her in the airport (so no hankypanky on that occasion). Did meet and stayed with for a week on my way back a month later, though. What sweet memories...

- I cherish the fact that the girls I date are braver than I

Also wondering how he did, especially as I have a similar stopover on Sunday.

I was thinking of making a list of Craigslist girls' numbers and start calling when I land. The flight I arrive on is domestic with only a carry on so I should be out quickly.

Any tips on versatile girls with bolt ons that do in call would be most appreciated.
