Great result for everyone. Let's hope it continues.

I hope it will not. I was planning to go to LOS in August, but with this exchange rate EUR/THB I will cancel that trip. In 2009 100 Euro equ. round 5000 baht. now it's only 3900 baht.

Is anyone seeing less Russians or heard their opinion?  Do Mongering Russians expect to see less Russians in Pattaya and BKK?

“Booming high seasons are but a memory for Pattaya hotels” per Pattaya Mail story dated 2 Jan 2015.  According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand through Nov 2014, tourists to Pattaya from Russia, China, Japan, and India are down resulting in lots of empty rooms.

http://www.pattayama...ya-hotels-44021

…Tourists from Russia - who accounted for 6 percent of all tourists nationwide last year and a far higher percentage in Pattaya - are off 5.9 percent this year through November. With the ruble’s historic depreciation, Russian arrivals fell 21 percent in November and 19 percent in October. December likely will see similar drops, if not more.

Arrivals from China are off 5.9 percent this year as well while tourists from Hong Kong are down 24 percent, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Japanese visits are off 18.9 percent and Taiwanese arrivals by 15 percent.

Pattaya’s third major market, after North Asia and Russia - India - is down 11 percent this year.

The result has been lots of empty hotel rooms in Pattaya. Average hotel occupancy is running 60-70 percent, compared with last year’s 80-90 percent. Hotels dependent upon the Russian trade - such as the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort - and package tours are hurting the worst.

I found that most of the Russians actually stay around Na Jomtien and venture into Pattaya, it maybe the case that they are just not coming in Pattaya. I spent a bit of time during the day at Na Jomtien Beach and it was full of Russians.

Worry about the things you can affect and not the things you can't affect

Ok, Im about done with Russians,

Anyway here is a link to an article relating to "peoples" apparenet inability to drive according to sexual orientation.  With Vlad "I'm an internatinal embarrasment & pariah" as their beloved dictator & invader have a look at this link if you want a good laugh & indeed a reminder as to how out of step these stone age clowns are.

I may not have highlighted the link correctly but just copy & paste & give me your thoughts. I for one say close the Iron Curtain. The world was a much more pleasant place without these archiac pricks spreading their misery.

As Russians were buying up many of those new hi-rise condo units being built around Pattaya, I'd guess some Thai property developers are not as happy about the situation as most of us farangs.

I can see a thai banking crisis looming too, as all those property loans go sour. Serves 'em right, greedy bastards.

Agree entirely. "Stone age clowns" - brilliant.
