Staying there now and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Overpriced, too far away from Fields/Perimeter, down a street that the driver warned us other Korean tourists had been mugged in recently and NOT guest friendly, let alone gay/ladyboy friendly. It has a crazy if the guest stays past 11pm to 5am you get charged. So if you like to monger in the daytime this is the place for you.

The free breakfast would be overpriced even if they had paid me to eat that cold undercooked slop.

It came served with a nice rude "did you order this?" with a thumb buried in the eggs holding the plate. Coffee only, they finally decided I could have a glass of water for no extra charge, how nice, and it was warm tap water with no ice, even better.

This applies to the hotel and the "resort" part.

Positives, quite, also a nice pool for the resorts only. The hotel pool is a square of 3ft deep water.

I wandered to that hotel myself a while back and came to the conclusion that it was a poor choice.

Seems i made the right call reading your report.

Personally i stay at Clarkton & Pacific Breeze. Before the rebuild i felt central park was great value.
Note Clarkton is not really for those wanting to frequent walking street, however it does have a shuttle bus service thats kinda handy.

The new Scorebirds hotel was really good quality and good location too whith the added pool parties bonus being the home of the Doll House Group.

I've never found a hotel worth mentioning in Angeles. You are spoiled for choice in Thailand, but in the Phils I'm always over spending of roughing it. There are so many shitty hotels there, and all the nice hotels are overpriced.

Pacific Breeze is OK. Walkabout is OK. The Apartelle next to Camelot is pretty OK. I have learned to settle for OK when in town.

Agree moo yung... Finding a decent bed in phils for a reasonable price....

I can recommend the beds at least at new horizon annex resort in Bohol..l they are real spring mattresses!!!

And the same goes for Scorebirds which opened earlier this year.

Same rooms in Los would be 40% cheaper....

Thank you, those suggestions will be a big help.

After staying here a few days I might have called this hotel ok too, except for the distance, guest policy, tiny bathroom, and breakfast.

The pool at the resort part helps balance the scales, the girls love it, and there's no one else staying here during the raining season.

Despite the warnings that unregistered guests staying past 11pm would be charged, I wasn't on checkout, not sure if they forgot or what, YMMV.

Clarkton turned out to be a good suggestion, about the same price, and better in every way, except for maybe the pool, has a good view of the mountains from the 4th floor and the shuttle is ok. LB friendly so far. DM was a little quieter with only 1 staff, here you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the rooms, I felt a little silly with 3 tall guests, Angeles just isn't Pattaya, but none of the hostility as from the DM resort guard.

Here i will post a general info for all of you that are looking for a good place to stay in the phillippines......

Good hotel price with decent room begins at 2100 to 2500 php going higher , everything under that is waste of time.....

Keep in mind that the phillippines is not , i repeat it`s not a tourist destination in contrary to what alle media will like you to believe so the price will stay high no matter how many hotels are been build , because they will not get the high steam of passagers like other tourist destination does.......

There are good hotels in most places that you want to go but then you have to pay big buggs to stay there.....

If you want to stay in a good hotel at AC then you have to be at

ABC hotel : http://angelesbeachclubhotel.com/

Grandlewis Hotel : http://lewisgrand.com/

Penthouse Hotel : http://penthousehotel.com.ph/

The Field Plaza Suite : http://fieldsplazasuites.com/

Less costly will be these two , these i do recommand friends of mine.....

Pacific Breeze : http://www.pacificbreezehotel.com/

Wild Orchad : http://www.wildorchidresort.com/

These are the places i stay most of the time , with ABC as my first choice......

Tune, Angeles is nice :), they even mention that it's a BOY! when you try to take them up the lift (to ur room). They also have a special concierge service where they bring, ladyboys (who probably noticed that you had one before) all the way up to your roo

Sadly have to agree with many of the comments re accom in Phils being well over priced, certainly in comparison to LOS.

Why this is so, given Phils is a much poorer country than LOS, is debatable. High price of electrciity (approx 2-3 times more than LOS) is undoubtedly one of the reasons.

Re accom in Angeles the list Asian-Prince put together is probably right but missed out Oasis hotel. Perosnally I prefer this to ABC or Lewis Grand albeit its quieter. Oasis is up towards Friendship gate and a long way from Fields Ave but has a shuttle and probably the best swimming pool in Angeles (its either there or Lewis Grand), rooms are about P3.3k to P4.7k per night. If US military not staying its a quiet place.

Would also agree re Tune Hotels, rooms are tiny (seriously small) and no coincidence linked to Air Asia re "keep it small, keep it cheap" but its clean and all works as it should, which is lacking from most other hotels which can best be classified as s**t holes and make places like Yorkshire Inn  in Patong actually seem good!
